Zinc-aluminum flake coatings provide high-performance corrosion protection for large metal components. These non-electrolytically applied coatings (as per ISO 10683/ASTM F3393/F1136) offer an alternative to zinc and other electroplating methods, addressing both performance and environmental concerns.

Applied via a dip-spinning process, the coating consists of a base coat and a top coat. The base coat is a combination of zinc and aluminum flakes within an electrically conductive binder system containing integrated lubricants for friction coefficient adjustment. The zinc flakes provide cathodic protection, while the aluminum flakes minimize white rust formation. Together, the zinc and aluminum flakes in the dry film create a barrier that protects against corrosive media like oxygen and electrolytes, extending the lifespan of the protective system. This conductive coating offers cathodic protection.
